VIP tag

VIP tags are commonly implanted in the area around the eyes or at the base of the dorsal fin, though their ideal location varies from species to species. The 5 x 2 mm sized plastic VIP tag is conspicuously coloured, and it can be visible through transparent areas of a fish’s tissue.

If you have found a VIP tag, we would ask you to tape it firmly to the attached printable form or to a piece of paper with the required recovery information. We will then try our best to identify the fish’s origin.
